Vice President, Emerging Markets

As Vice President of Emerging Markets, Clayton Cobb is building on his success leading Planet’s Denver business practice to expand the company’s geographical footprint into new regions. Clayton works closely with Planet’s state and local government, federal, health and commercial business executives to capitalize on Planet’s award winning success in these market areas as Planet continues to expand its U.S. presence.

Clayton, a leading SharePoint architect, was hired in 2008 to extend the Planet Federal practice into the Western region by focusing on Denver, which is the 2nd largest Federal hub in the U.S. Clayton started out as a team of one on a small project with a government client in Denver and has grown the region to three large clients and 15 total team members with much more of each on the way. Clayton has been instrumental in establishing a strong presence in Denver where Planet was not previously known but is now recognized as the leading provider of SharePoint consulting in the Denver metropolitan area.

Before joining Planet Technologies, Clayton was employed by Booz Allen Hamilton, providing general IT consulting in the DoD space, primarily on the Intelligence side. Clayton spent 6 years at BAH after a tour in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as a Sergeant in the Signals Intelligence field. Clayton has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Networking from Strayer University and is working towards his Master's of Business Administration at the Johns Hopkins University.

Clayton is a current Microsoft SharePoint Server MVP and former InfoPath MVP who is very active in the SharePoint community. Clayton has coordinated and led two SharePoint Saturday Denver events and actively co-leads the Colorado SharePoint User Group. Additionally, Clayton has spoken at many conferences and user groups over the last few years in order to share his knowledge and gain new friends who share the same passion for technology. Clayton has a wife, Ann, and three young children, including twin baby girls. Clayton is an avid fan of the University of Alabama and races his Mitsubishi Evo in his free time (drag, autocross, and circuit).
