Planet Technologies works very closely with the product development groups within Microsoft and has been an integral part of the development of many of Microsoft’s technology releases as well as one of a handful of companies part of Microsoft’s Technical Adopter Program (TAP).
The most highly anticipated recent release from Microsoft is the latest desktop operating system (OS), Vista. The transition from any of the previous Microsoft operating systems to Vista will undoubtedly be a significant undertaking for any organization, however, the ROI and functional capability benefits of Vista make the move a must.
To assist Agencies in making this transition, Planet, in conjunction with Microsoft, has developed a programmatic approach to Vista Migration that utilizes a number of compatibility testing tools, pre-migration planning and a ‘preflight’ checklist to ensure that the migration to Vista runs smoothly and ensures the safe transition of current user preferences, data and settings to the new operating system. In addition, Planet Technologies utilizes a number of Microsoft resources to provide the transitioning Agency with training and pre-migration briefing materials to ease the transition and manage the expectations of the end-users.
